Backing on to expansive greenspace, the homeowners desired a timber framed three season room that would allow them to embrace the epic outdoors into their home. The concept quickly moved towards the proposed two-story addition shown in the photos, with storage on the ground level, and entertaining space on the second. Special attention was taken to match existing materials from the home so as to have the new space blend seamlessly with the existing. Effectively an outdoor living room, this 25’x25′ second story space comes complete with retractable shades and a grand wood burning fireplace. Outdoor kitchen, and lots of room for entertainment, this space is set up to host large family events, as well as quiet evenings around the fire, and calm mornings with a coffee. With a dated pool, patio, and fence enclosure below, the landscape had to be updated to complete the space. The view from the outdoor living room looks down over the re-built pool and patio. Being outdoors while being protected was a primary driver for the homeowners, in an effort to extend their outdoor season in their cherished backyard.
